Joseph E. Anckner
Consultant Retired Sr. Vice President of Gulfstream Aerospace
Mr. Anckner's 55 year aviation career began with Grumman Aircraft Engineering Corporation in 1949.
He held various positions in engineering, including Project Engineer on the Gulfstream II - the first in a long series of Gulfstream aircraft.
He joined the Gulfstream Sales Team in 1969, and moved to Savannah, GA in 1973 when Grumman became Gulfstream Aerospace.
He was responsible for the sale of over 200 Gulfstream aircraft and retired in 1994, after serving the last thirteen years as Senior Vice President of International Sales and Marketing.
Mr. Anckner then served as the first Executive Vice President of Harrods Aviation, London, England, overseeing the launch of this new company.
He is a past member of CBAA, EBAA, and ABAA, and served six years on the Presidents Advisory Committee of the US Dept. of Commerce.
He served four years in the US Navy Air Force and received his college education at both Hofstra and Long Island Universities.
He presently has an Aviation Consulting Business specializing in purchasing aircraft for private clients.
Among his many accolades, Mr. Anckner was awarded the Independence Medal of Jordan from the late King Hussein, for his contribution to aviation in the Middle East.
He also received awards from the US Army and the Saudi Arabian Government for his individual efforts during Operation Desert Storm.
Mr. Anckner resides in Savannah, GA with his wife Vicki.
